Taylor started recording ASMR using her phone and then uploading them to YouTube. PewDiePie utilized her video for an episode of one his shows when Taylor had 50,000 followers around 1 1/2 months since she posted her first. Taylor had stopped creating videos for her Youtube Channel at 2 months and nearly 100,000 subscribers. The reason for this was mostly due to technical issues with the new equipment she was using, as well as her awe-inspiring popularity. After a month long break and a few months of making new videos, she started and uploaded videos again, among them the famous ASMR 10 Triggers to help You sleep (35 million views as of august 2022). ASMR 20 Triggers to Help You Sleep, a series of videos aimed at Sleeping was released in July of 2017 and is now watched by 38 million people. In August 2017, Shane Dawson interviewed her and her audience grew to one million YouTube subscribers. Wired UK estimates that her YouTube advertising revenues were $1,000 each week from February to March 2019.
Dennis Helfer, a Canadian farmer, and Elaine Helfer, a Canadian woman, were her parents. She is from German as well as English heritage. She went to William E. Hay Composite High School located in Stettler. Her three sisters, Tammy, Tara and Trena resided and worked on their farm owned by her parents. Helfer was found at the age of 17 by a scout for a modeling agency while standing in line at the movie theater.
